The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Teachers’ Union (SVGTU) and the Public Service Union (PSU) are planning to withdraw the services of their members on Tuesday October 13th.

A joint statement signed by President of the SVGTU, Mr. Oswald Robinson, and President of the PSU, Mr. Elroy Boucher says the decision was taken on Wednesday October 7th, and comes due to the further delay of the one-month tax free salary in lieu of no salary increase for the past four years.

Both unions are appealing to all parents and or guardians to keep their children or ward at home on October 13th.

The Unions are also calling on all other teachers and public sector workers to withdraw their services as well.
