The SVG Police Masters defeated New York Masters by 10 runs in the 2019 National Lottories Authority in St.Vincent and the  Grenadines Tourism Authority Independence International Masters T20 festival, which was held at Arnos Vale yesterday morning.

The toss was won by the SVG Police Masters and Gosnel Cupid steadied the ship with a top score of 42 in 53 balls, while Kissinger Mclean ended the innings with a world win  of 31 from 10 balls including 3 6’s and 2 4’s, bringing their total to 137 for 4 in 20 overs.

Andy Douglas took 3 wickets for 25 runs bowling for the New York Masters, who were only able to muster 127 for 8 in their 20 overs.

Mark Audain top scored with 33 from 35 balls and Ezekiel Williams supported with 21 from39 balls, putting on a 58 run opening stand.

After 17 overs, New York Masters required a further 27 runs from 18 balls, when Gerald Gould took consecutive wickets off the fifth and sixth balls of the 18th over to shift the balance.

Gould ended with 3 for 14 from 2 overs the pick of the bowlers for the SVG Police Masters.

Meanwhile Carriacou Masters defeated Prime Ministers XI by 5 wickets. Prime Minister’s XI were bowled out in 17.3 over for 80 runs, Alfred McKenzie top scored with 20 runs, Shorlan Francois and Steve Mahon took 3 wickets a piece, Mahon finishing with figures of 3 for 5 in 2 overs.  Carriacou Masters scored 83 for 5 in 18.3 overs.

Paul john top scored with 29 (not out) from 53 balls. Noel Samuel picked up 2 for 23 off 4 overs.

And In Table Tennis – Amazing Grace Adventist Church of Arnos Vale and the Kingstown Baptist Church will contest the final of the Table Tennis Championship for Churches at the Recreation Centre of the Church of Latter Day Saints at Kingstown Park this evening, at 6:00.
