The 2019 budget for St. Vincent and the Grenadines will include allocation for an embassy in Taiwan.

Minister of Finance, Camillo Gonsalves, in presenting the Estimates of Income and Expenditure to lawmakers on Tuesday, said that seven posts have been created within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

This will provide for the establishment of the new diplomatic outpost as well as enhance the capacity of the SVG Mission at the United Nations to advance the nation’s bid for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council.

According to Iwitness news, the minister did not say how the posts are to be allocated between the new and existing mission.
