As the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Mornings Committee begin preparations for the 2019 festivities, representatives of various community groups, organizations and individuals from around the country involved in staging Christmas and Nine Mornings activities, will gather this Saturday 19th October at the Peace Memorial Hall for a meeting.

Officials from the Ministry of Culture and the SVG Nine Mornings Committee will be in attendance and Minister of Tourism and Culture Cecil McKie, is expected to address the gathering.

During the meeting, discussions will be held on Innovations for 2019, the Official Launch of the Festival, Community Competitions and Judging, Independence Street Parade, Improvements to Staging Areas, Theme for 2019, Community Submissions and an Open Forum

The SVG Christmas/Nine Mornings Festival which takes place throughout the month of December – will be officially launched on Sunday 1st December with a lighted street parade, Christmas Concert, Lighting of Heritage Square and climaxing with the Nine Mornings festivities across the country from December 16th to 24th..

In 2018 some 52 communities staged activities. Point Village is the defending National Lighting champion; Richland Park won the Best Nine Mornings Community while Coulls Hill won the Best Christmas Community award.

The Nine Mornings Festival is held under the theme: “Celebrating a Unique Vincentian Tradition”.
