This country’s supervisor of elections, Miss Dora James, while appearing as a guest on VC3’s Roundtable Talk appeal to Vincentian public to assist in maintaining the secrecy of the ballot by leaving their cell phones out of the voting booth.

“If we are voting in secret, why would you want to go to the booth with your phones? So we are appealing administratively to persons to leave their phones outside. We have to maintain the secrecy of the ballot” James said.

The Supervisor went on to address those that make the argument that they have the right to take a picture of their ballot.

“Now persons say Justice John spoke about you having the right to take a picture of your ballot. I am not a lawyer but I am just saying that if you’re voting in secret, let us, all of us, help to uphold the secrecy of the ballot.”

Elections will take place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will take place on November 5th 2020.
