Starlift Steel Orchestra delivered a masterful rendition of Alston Becket Cyrus “Nanny Revival”, to capture the 2017 Senior Panorama title during the Steel and Glitter Show held last night at Victoria Park.
Starlift which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year dethroned last year’s champs Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra, who had to settle for 2nd position.
Third place went to WINFRESH South East Steel Orchestra; in fourth was Symphonix Steel Orchestra while Elite Steel Orchestra took fifth position.
In the Sections of the Band competition, SVG Players International Mas Band emerged the winners with their portrayal of “Electro Magnetic Pulse EMP” from their presentation “Star Date 2525: The future is Now”, with second place going to BMC Amerijet Magic 103.7 FM Blondie Bird and Friends with their portrayal “Glorious” from their presentation “It is what it is”.
In position number three was Xtreme FM 104.3 G&T Enterprise Lynx Mas Band with their portrayal “Jeepers Creepers” from their presentation “From the Movies”, while in position number four was Metrocinth High Voltage Mas Production with their portrayal “Unity Labour Party (ULP)” from their presentation “This is Politics.”
