St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Republic of China on Taiwan have signed two agreements aimed at combating crime.

The Agreement on Police Cooperation and the Agreement Concerning Cooperation in Immigration Affairs and Human Trafficking Prevention, were signed by Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves on April 21, 2017.

The bilateral agreements were previously signed in Taiwan by that country’s Minister of the Interior, whose portfolio covers the National Police Agency and the Immigration Agency.

Under the agreements, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Taiwan agree to combat transnational crimes through the exchange of information, cooperation of investigation, and promotion of capacity building.
