St. Lucia’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Sharon Belmar George has announced a new confirmed case of COVID-19.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in St. Lucia to thirty-nine.

The new case is a 38 year old male from the Dennery region who was tested during a community testing exercise conducted in St. Lucia this week.

According to St. Lucia’s Ministry of Health, he has no history of travel or known contact with anyone diagnosed with the virus. Upon receiving the diagnosis Wednesday afternoon arrangements were made for his transfer to the Respiratory Hospital for care.
