St. Joseph’s Convent Marriaqua, formerly Marriaqua Secondary School will be hosting a public lecture next month.

The lecture forms part of activities to celebrate the school’s 50th anniversary which is being held under the theme: 50 years of love in service.

The topic to be discussed is: “What must a fragile economy such as St. Vincent and the Grenadines do to manage the effects of global vulnerabilities and ensure economic growth.”

The presenter will be Dr. Garth P. Nicholls, Senior Economist at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Dr. Nicholls is a Vincentian and 1983 graduate of Marriaqua Secondary School. Some of his works have been published in books, journals and working papers.

The lecture is scheduled to take place on Thursday May 3 at Frenches House beginning at 7pm.

The school’s 50th anniversary will be celebrated on September 16, 2018.
