The Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) says the introduction of a Soca Semi Finals for this year’s Vincy Mas is geared at giving young emerging Soca artistes an opportunity to perform and hone their craft.

Chairman of the CDC, Ricardo Adams told reporters at a Media Conference yesterday that the CDC is excited about this new event which will be held outside Victoria Park.

He said the Soca semis will allow for a number of artistes to gain experience on stage performing before a big crowd, and give them exposure.

Mr. Adams said the CDC will analyze the CD’s submitted by Soca artistes and then select about 25-30 semifinalists to perform on Saturday June 24.
