The Sion Hill Euphonium Steel Orchestra has been crowned the 2018 Senior Panorama champions, while SVG Players International emerged the winner once again in the Section of the Bands competition, during the staging of the 2018 Steel and Glitter Show, last night.
Sion Hill Euphonium got the judges nod for first place with their rendition of ‘Carnival’ by Winston Soso.
Second place in the Senior Panorama competition went to last year’s champions, Starlift Steel Orchestra, who performed ‘Behaving the Worse’ by Gamal “Skinny Fabulous” Doyle, while Ebony Pan Jammers-a new steel orchestra here-took position number three with their rendition of ‘Unruly’ by Delroy “Fireman” Hopper.
In the Section of the Bands competition, Blondie Bird and Friends placed second; Imagination Mas Band 3rd and Melbourne Artisans placed 4th.
