Sean Paul will join the upcoming season of the NBC singing competition The Voice this fall, as Gwen Stefani’s battle advisor.

The Temperature deejay said he is looking forward to sharing some insight with the talented contestants of the show. “When Gwen Stefani calls and says she needs my assistance I am there,” Paul said.

Stefani, who is returning for Season 22 as a coach, added that she was thrilled to be working with the Dancehall legend.

“I grew up loving ska music, which was, at the time, like, super underground,” Gwen told ET. “[There were] a lot of English groups like Madness, The Specials, and The Selecter, which led me into reggae music… And then, it’s just crazy to think that all these years later, I’m standing with a legend.”

Their coach-advisor team-up will be their second collaboration this year, following the release of Light My Fire, which also featured Shenseea.

Light My Fire appeared on Paul’s Scorcha album.

Sean and Gwen will join a star-studded cast of coaches and advisors when the new season kicks off on Monday, September 19.
