Antigua and Barbuda’s Ministry of Education has announced the closure of all Public Educational Institutions for today, Tuesday November 10, 2020. The decision was made as Antigua and Barbuda remains under a Flash Flood watch.
Antiguan Ministry officials encouraged Private institutions to do likewise.
A request has been made for all students in Antigua and Barbuda to remain indoors.
The announcement from the Ministry comes following consistent rains over the last 24 hours that have flooded homes and businesses, leaving many roads impassable and washed away cars.
There have been no reports of fatalities; however there have been reports of persons being trapped in their homes.
The Fire Brigade was also called to rescue a number of people trapped in their vehicles.
