The first of two recently constructed Satellite Warehouses was officially opened yesterday at Noel, Sandy Bay.

The warehouse was designed by local architectural firm, TVA Consultants Limited.

TVA Consultants supervised the construction of the warehouses at Sandy Bay and Rose Hall at a combined total cost of approximately EC$308, 000.

They will be managed by the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO).

In her address at yesterday’s opening ceremony, Director of NEMO, Michelle Forbes, said that in the event of a disaster, emergency supplies and food will now be stored at the newly constructed facility.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said the Government will be spending in excess of 5-millions of dollars to construct a total of five Satellite Warehouses throughout St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
