Rondy ‘Luta’ McIntosh is the winner of the Most Popular Local Christmas Song for 2017 with his hit song “Christmas rub down”.

Luta also placed second in the competition with his son ‘In the morning’.

Third position went to Roger “Landlord” Thompson with his song ‘You Tell a Lie’, with 4th position going to Rolle Bowman with his song ‘Give’.

The winners were announced on Saturday January 6, 2018 at the 2017 Nine Mornings prize giving ceremony at the Peace Memorial Hall in Kingstown.

Meanwhile, Point Village was announced winner of the National Lottery Authority Best Community on Parade.

The competition was judged on Sunday December 3, 2017 at the launch of the 2017 Nine Mornings Festival in capital city, Kingstown.

Green Hill placed 2nd for Best Community on parade, Stubbs 3rd and Owia 4th.

Point Village also won the National Lottery Authority Best Community Song.

Rose Bank placed 2nd, Fitzhughes 3rd and Stubbs 4th.

Stubbs Village won the Best Nine Mornings Community for a 7th consecutive year. Richland Park took position number two, Coulls Hill 3rd, and Carriere 4th.

The title of 2017 Best Christmas Community went to Coulls Hill, while Richland Park placed second. Third place went to Carriere with Fitzhughes placing 4th.

In the ‘It’s My Nine Mornings’ Poster Competition, Taytrell Cato won the ages 7-11 category, while Kadeem Gordon won the ages 12-16 category.

Point Village emerged winners of the VINLEC Community Lighting Competition for the fifth consecutive year, The Botanic Gardens won Best Lit Garden and Mrs. Olivia DaSilva won the Best Lit Private House.

The 2017 festivities have been hailed a success with good programs and large audience attendances around the country.

Nine Mornings in St. Vincent and the Grenadines was celebrated from December 16 to 24 under the theme: ‘Spreading the love in 2017’.
