The Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) yesterday continued on its mission to restore water supply in St. Vincent. CEO of the CWSA Mr. Garth Saunders disclosed that a team had been dispatched to the Hermitage system in order to continue the cleaning of the intake there. He said that completion of the cleaning of the intake will result in the 500,000 gallon storage tank at Belle Isle being supplied, which will aid in the distribution of water to Barroullie, Peters Hope and surrounding areas.

Saunders also mentioned the work being done on the Jennings water system. He said that a team had been sent to the Jennings valley, and on their way up the team is expected to install a storage tank in the South Rivers area so that residents there will be able to collect water from the spring until the Jennings system is back up and running.

Mr Saunders said that the cleaning of the Jennings system had already started and all of the tanks had already been emptied. A filter is expected to be refilled which will then be followed by the filling of the tanks later Thursday afternoon. The CWSA CEO said that he was hopeful that the Jennings system would be operational by Thursday night.
