Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves’ mother, Theresa Francis, passed away yesterday July 4, 2017.
Mrs. Francis died at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in Kingstown. She was age 98.
Prime Minister Dr. Gonsalves is currently in Grenada attending the 38th annual conference of Caricom Heads of Government. He is scheduled to return to the state tomorrow July 6.
In a statement earlier today, Deputy Prime Minister, Sir Louis Starker on behalf of the Cabinet expressed condolences to Prime Minister Gonsalves and his family.
Minister Straker described Mrs. Francis as “a very quiet, efficient, entrepreneurial person who did her best to educate her children and raise her children in a proper way in the rural village of Colonarie”
Minister Straker said Mrs. Francis had ten children, nine of whom are alive.
