Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is scheduled to address the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly this afternoon.

The 73rd session of the annual meeting began on Monday and the theme of the general debate is, ‘Making the United Nations Relevant to All People: Global Leadership and Shared Responsibilities for Peaceful, Equitable and Sustainable Societies.’

The Prime Minister’s address is scheduled for 2.30pm.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Gonsalves was involved in a meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) attended by officials from CARICOM, the World Health Organization and other International agencies.

Speaking this morning on the Shakeup program here on WEFM, the Prime Minister said that meeting which was also attended by this country’s Minister of Health Luke Browne centered on the progress made by countries in addressing NCDs and the way forward in tackling such diseases.

The Prime Minister also announced that St. Vincent and the Grenadines will be signing a visa waiver agreement later today with the Russian Federation.
