Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves has said that a legally binding agreement is being sought, coming out of the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP 21, which will be held in Paris, France from November 30th to December 11th.

Dr. Gonsalves was responding to a question on Climate Change, at a Press Conference held at the Unity Labour Party’s Headquarters on Monday.

Prime Minister Gonsalves said the agreement being sought is not one where countries can opt into and out of.

He said it seeks a target of no more than 2 degrees Celsius, above preindustrial levels – for global climate, and funds for mitigation and adaptation to Climate change for Small Island States.

Leaders around the world will be attending the meeting in Paris which aims to reach a historic, legally binding and universal agreement on Climate Change.
