Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves is participating in several meetings at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in New York.

The general debate of the UN General Assembly’s 73rd Session commences tomorrow, September 25, and during the session, each UN member is expected to deliver a national statement.

Prime Minister Gonsalves will be delivering his speech during the afternoon of Friday, September 28.

Speaking this morning on the Shakeup program here on WEFM, the Prime Minister said he has held bilateral meetings with officials of several countries including the United Arab Emirates, Seychelles, Paraguay and Ghana.

He said that earlier today he attended a ceremony for the unveiling of a statue for Nelson Mandela, and during the course of today he is scheduled to meet with the Commonwealth Secretary General.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gonsalves said that he will be issuing a statement today on behalf of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States(OECS) pertaining to the an incident earlier this month whereby a 26-year-old Saint Lucian man, Botham Jean, was shot dead by a female Dallas police officer who entered an apartment unit she believed was her own.

Prime Minister Gonsalves said he is scheduled to return to the state on Sunday.
