The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Lutz H. Gorgens has commended Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves for having reached out personally to the family of Martin Griff, and to all the other victims immediately, following the tragic and gruesome events which occurred off Walliabou Bay late last week.

Martin Griff, a 49 year old, accountant of Germany was shot and killed, while Reinhold Zeller, a 63 year old, sea captain of Germany sustained a gunshot wound on his left shoulder, after they were attacked by unknown assailants, while on board a yacht at Walliabou on Friday March 4th.

In a letter to Prime Minister Gonsalves dated March 7th, 2016, Ambassador Gorgens noted that the tragedy is difficult to bear for Germans as they are for Vincentians, and said he wish the police force of St. Vincent and the Grenadines success in bringing the perpetrators of this heinous attack to justice as soon as possible.

The German Ambassador said he also wishes that the shared grief will contribute to further deepening the solidarity of our two nations in good days and bad days.
