“Should marijuana be decriminalized for medicinal and recreational use?”

That is the topic to be debated upon by members of the local Police Force today, at a debating competition being hosted as part of activities for Police Week 2018.

The competition is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm at the Calliaqua Town Hall.

The winner of the debate competition will receive the coveted Commissioner of Police (COP) Trophy and $ 500; second place will receive the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Trophy and $300 while the third place will receive the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Trophy and $200.

Each competitor will also be issued with certificates of participation.

Members of the general public are invited to attend.

Meanwhile, the 2018 Police Week activities will continue tomorrow with a Lecture on Leadership and Management to be delivered by Mr. Joel Providence, Managing Director of Corea’s Hazells Inc.

The lecture will take place at the Old Montrose Police Station Lecture Hall commencing at 6:00 pm.
