Officers of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines police who were on mobile patrol in the vicinity of Gibson Corner at about 3:45pm on Tuesday April 17, 2018, shot dead Mr. Ronique Chewitt also known as “War Teacher” a suspect in several matters, including the robbery at Lions Club Lotto Booth.

A Police report said that Mr. Chewitt was seen walking along the said public road acting in a suspicious manner. When officers stopped the vehicle and approached him, he ran into some bushes then drew a firearm and pointed it at the police, who opened fire shooting Chewitt in his chest and arm.

He was taken to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A .45 firearm and eight rounds of ammunitions, two portions of cocaine and a portion of cannabis were found on his person.
