The Public Relation and Complaints Office of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) wishes to inform the general public that the online publication by ANN News Network on its website on January 11, 2019 that a resident of Barrouallie was shot by members of the RSVGPF and later died is totally false and invalid.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Osborne Rodgers, a 21 year old of Barrouallie and Pole Yard, Arnos Vale.

According to preliminary investigations, on Thursday, January 10, 2019 between 11:00 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. at Arnos Vale (Pole Yard), Rodgers received a single gunshot to the right side of his chest and succumbed to his injuries.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted on the body the ascertain the cause of death.

Investigations into this homicide continues and the police are urging anyone who may have information that would lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrator or perpetrators to call the Commissioner of Police in charge of Crime at 456-1339.
