Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal accident, which occurred at Lodge Village public road on Monday October 19th, 2015.
According to Police, Richard Bardoo, a 29 year old, chauffeur of Fountain, was driving minibus HN 113, a Toyota Hiace, from Block 2000 to Redemption Sharpes via Lodge Village public road, when Gabriel James, a six-year-old student of Largo Height, was struck.
Preliminary investigations show that the minibus swerved away and hit a utility pole.
It is reported that Kunjah Browne, a nine-year-old student of Redemption Sharpes, who was a passenger in the minibus, head hit a utility pole, causing him to sustain severe head and neck injuries. He subsequently died on the spot.
A postmortem examination is expected to be performed on the body.
Bardoo is assisting the police with the investigation.
According to Police, there have been ten road accidents this year, which resulted in the deaths of 18 persons.
