Police are investigating a fatal accident, which occurred along the Langley Park Public Road, on Sunday October 14, 2018 at about 6:50pm involving motor vehicle TK 696, a white pickup owned by Basil Brackin of Magum, and Driven by Dazzroy Brackin, a 19-year-old of the same address.

According to investigations motor vehicle TK 696 was travelling with passengers from a “cook out” in South Rivers towards Magum when it struck the front of motor vehicle TQ553, a purple Isuzu Truck, which was parked along the Langley Park Public Road, in the vicinity of Maurice Warrican’s residence.

Motor vehicle TK 696 then swerved on impact and struck a retaining wall owned by Gordon Henry of Langley Park. The vehicle’s cargo bed reportedly became detached with several passengers.

Clevique Huggins age15 and Delroy Baptiste age 17, both of Magum, succumbed to their injuries on the spot, while Iron May a 17- year-old of Magum, Denisha Nero a 19-year-old of Owia, Adique Ollivierre a 14-year-old of Overland, Jolano Dasouza a 25-year-old of Overland and Odel Bowens a 15-year-old of Magum were treated and discharged at the Georgetown Medical Health Centre.

Ivor Clarke a 14-year-old of Sandy Bay and Beverly Nanton a 19-year-old of Magum were transferred from the Georgetown Medical Health Centre to the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.

Driver of motor vehicle TK 696, Dazzroy Brackin, is currently at the Georgetown Police Station assisting Police with their investigations.

According to Police, motor vehicle TQ 553 was moderately damaged whereas motor vehicle TK 696 was written off.

This incident brings the total number of road fatality for 2018 so far to five.
