Women in St. Vincent and the Grenadines have received praises from Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, for the positive role they have made here.
Dr. Gonsalves made the commendations while speaking on WE FM this morning, as this country joins the rest of the world in observing International Women’s Day, under the theme “Issues of equality, Women’s Empowerment, Women’s Development”.
Dr. Gonsalves said several of the professions such as nursing, the legal fraternity and teaching, are dominated by women.
The PM also made special mention of political icons Floris Simmons, Yvonne Francis Gibson, Ivy Joshua, Rene Baptiste, Valcina Ash, Stephanie Browne, Girlyn Miguel, who all contributed to politics in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
