Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves while speaking on radio earlier this morning provided an update on drought and COVID-19 relief funds that farmers are set to receive.
“For the farmers now, the four thousand and something persons that had registered, but they are sanitizaing it, double checking it because some people had turned up and registered without having their farmer’s card, some don’t have farmer’s cards.” Gonsalves said
The Prime Minister said that the Ministry of Finance is waiting for the double checking of the list to be complete in order to begin distributing the first payment of $500.00, which he said is set to begin in a few days.
Dr. Gonsalves said that in his absence, the Minister of Agriculture Hon. Saboto Caesar will speak to the farming community next week.
