Prime Minister Dr. Hon. Ralph Gonsalves, while speaking on radio earlier this week, discussed the new entry protocols for individuals who have already received their COVID-19 vaccine.

“The change to the protocol is that persons who have taken the vaccine four weeks prior to coming, and when arrive they have a PCR test taken three days or seventy two hours before, and they take a PCR test upon arrival and then they quarantine for seven days, not the fourteen or twenty one days.” Gonsalves said.

Prime Minister Gonsalves said that the health authorities here in SVG are still being very cautious by not opting to go with a lax approach when it comes to vaccinated travelers. He drew reference to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) protocols where they don’t require vaccinated individuals to quarantine at all upon arrival.

Dr. Gonsalves said that the adoption of that protocol here in SVG is not ruled out for the future, and that he understands why local health authorities are taking these precautions.
