While discussing the future of regional air travel on VC3’s Roundtable Talk, Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, in response to a question by a viewer discussed the feasibility of regional sea travel.
“If you’re going to have a fast ferry, they’re very expensive to run. We had a fast ferry from Union Island, you may recall we loaned in US $100,000 and gave it certain other supports and it still wasn’t affordable”
Gonsalves said that for someone to embark on such a venture, they would need a “deep pocket”, saying that while it sounds like a simple idea it is not as easy as most would think to implement.
