Over twenty persons in the Langley Park Community participating in a 10 week parenting programme.

The programme, which was launched last Thursday October 5, is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment.

Speaking at the launch, Coordinator of the programme, Mrs. Gwenette Stoddard- Baptiste said participants will be engaged in a wide range of discussions that are centered around good parenting, healthy lifestyle practices, skills training and monthly health checkups.

Some of the topics, according to her include Parenting and Child Abuse, Childhood Illness, Dealing with a troubled Child, Nutrition, Non Communicable Diseases, Domestic Violence and Abuse, Conflict Resolution and How Can you be Supportive to your Child.

Chief Health Promotion Officer within the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Ms. Patsy Wyllie, expressed delight in being a part of such a programme.

She noted that programmes such as this one, have been in existence at the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment for over 25 years.

Wyllie implored the participants to draw from the positive experiences of each other in order to build societies in which they would want their children to live, learn, work and enjoy life.
