Over 355 Vincentians are expected to leave St. Vincent and the Grenadines this year – to participate in the Canadian Farm Workers Programme.

Word of this came from Minister with responsibility for Labour, Saboto Caesar – as he provided an update on the Canadian Farm Workers Programme.

The programme is open only to workers from Mexico, Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and the nine countries of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States.

Minister Caesar said that through this programme – the Labour Department has embarked on a national drive to find employment for Vincentians both locally and overseas.

The Minister also noted that it is part of an ongoing initiative to provide opportunities for Vincentians in a range of areas.
