Participants in the 2015 Secondary School Bible Quiz were recognized by the organizers at a ceremony held yesterday at Acute Cosmetics in Kingstown, where prizes were handed over to the winners of two annual awards.

The Frequent Participant Award, for the student with the most correct entries for the year, went to Alexandria Bacchus, of the St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown, who tied with Rockwell Lewis of the Intermediate High School.

Bacchus received a book – Picture Postcard of St. Vincent and the Grenadines by J. Chin Aleong and $400 while Lewis got an ISound speakerphone system and $300.

The Beginners Award sponsored fully by Acute Cosmetics, which goes to the Form 1 student with the most correct entries, went to Matthew Richards of the St. Vincent Grammar School. He received a trophy and $500.

Kyla Millington of the St. Joseph’s Convent Kingstown, winner of the monthly Quiz for December 2015 also received her prize.

In his brief remarks, Joel Jack, Organizer of the quiz, which has completed eight years, announced that two major awards, the Outstanding School and the Distinguished Graduate, will be presented at the St. Vincent Grammar School’s assembly on Monday January 11th.

Also as of this month, the monthly winners will receive an increase in their prizes – a Bible, $200, and Acute Cosmetics’ gift-voucher valued $200. There is also a wrapped gift for the winner’s parent.
