Fifteen young persons from St. Vincent and the Grenadines will have an opportunity to travel to Taiwan to pursue short-term courses in vocational education and training.

This as the government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines continues its thrust towards providing opportunities for Vincentian youths to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies required to empower them to seize employment opportunities or equip them for self-employment.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday afternoon, Minister of Finance, Camillio Gonsalves said during his recent visit to the Republic of China (Taiwan) he had discussions with President Tsai Ing-wen about the possibility of having young Vincentians pursue vocational studies in that country.

Minister Gonsalves said the Taiwanese President has agreed to accept an initial 15 Vincentians receive training in vocational studies in Taiwan.
