A ceremony is expected to be held here today at Bamboo, range – to mark the start of initial drilling exercises for the National Geothermal Project.
Minister of Transport and Works Julian Francis says today’s event will be a historic one for the development of St. Vincent and the Grenadines – and he is optimistic that persons will be in attendance to witness the commencement of the project.
Minister Francis said the geothermal project is an alternative exploration to fuel and this project will see a decline in fuel surcharge.
This afternoon’s ceremony commences at 2:30 this afternoon will hear addresses from Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, representatives from the energy unit and other agencies involved in the geothermal project.
