The Organization for Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission commenced this morning its Regional Advisory Group meeting for the Juvenile Justice Reform Programme (Phase 2) at the Beachcombers Hotel.

The strategic focus of this meeting is aligned to the main goal of the second phase of the programme which is geared towards reducing the number of youth in conflict with the law by way of improved rehabilitation and reintegration practices.

The specific objectives of the meeting are to: provide a status update on programme and the implementation of the annual work plan; describe the challenges and lessons learnt in project implementation; introduce the Project Implementation Committee – a firm with the required expertise to facilitate the implementation of juvenile justice reform activities across member states; and develop strategies to improve effectiveness of juvenile reform among the OECS member states.
