Director General of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Dr. Didacus Jules, has announced that a new structure and staffing has been approved for the OECS Commission.

Speaking at a press conference at the close of the 62nd meeting of the OECS Authority at the State House in Dominica on Thursday, he said a number of critical issues were considered and deliberated on by the Heads.

Dr. Jules said the new structure is in fact a less costly structure than what existed before, but takes into account the current challenges that we face both in the fiscal environment as well as challenges of development that now need to be addressed.

He said the heads of government also gave their nod of approval to a proposed youth strategy for the OECS which is currently being shaped with the engagement of young people themselves across the region.
