The Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has confirmed that there is no outbreak of Active Tuberculosis at the Mental Health Rehabilitation Center (MHRC) located in Glen.

The ministry said in a release that although all patients and staff at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital have tested negative for Active Tuberculosis, some persons have been found to have Latent Tuberculosis, all of whom are currently being treated according to the recommended Latent TB protocol.

The Ministry further stated that people who have Latent Tuberculosis do not have any symptoms, and the bacteria cannot be transmitted to other people.

It assures persons that the situation is currently under control and there is no risk of transmission.
