The National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) will today conclude a two day Initial Damage Assessment (IDA) Workshop

The seminars which commenced on Wednesday 20th February, is a collaborative effort between the UWI, Seismic Research Centre Volcano Ready Community Project SVG, through funding from the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) under the Country Directed Fund.

This Initial Damage Assessment Course targets persons from the North Windward and North Central Windward Communities and persons and agencies involved in conducting Damage Assessment in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Some of the objectives of the workshop are to train key personnel to collect, collate, interpret and report damage information and statistics at the community level and to collect the social information and to assess the needs of the persons impacted.

The Initial Damage Assessment Workshop is being held at NEMO’s Conference Room.
