The National Omni Bus Association (NOBA) is calling for the erection of additional Bus Stop signs at strategic points along the South Leeward highway.

Speaking at a Press Conference on April 18, 2017 at the Haddon Hotel Conference Room, President of NOBA Mr. Anthony Bacchus said NOBA has been in discussion with the Traffic Department of the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force and the Transport Board on this issue.

He mentioned that there is need for a bus stop around the corner from the main entrance of the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital in Kingstown, and in the vicinity of the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) at Old Montrose.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bacchus said NOBA would like to see the Zoning and Line-up System for mini vans be implemented here in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

This he said will help in eliminating the turning back by vans before reaching the bus terminal in Kingstown, and reduce some of the recklessness on the roads by van drivers as they race to get passengers.

Mr. Bacchus said NOBA has put many proposals to the government requesting the implementation of such legislation in the transport system.

According to Mr. Bacchus, St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the only country in the Caribbean that does not have a Zoning and Line-up System for mini vans.
