A man who was wanted for the murder and attempted murder of a man and his daughter is now behind bars in his homeland of Guyana after 18 years on the run.

Deonarine Bhihari, a resident of Logwood, Enmore, on the East Coast Demerara in Guyana, was arrested yesterday, May 27, 2018 by police officers from ‘C’ Division at Enmore, East Coast Demerara, iNews Guyana has reported.

He was placed in police custody and is expected to be brought to court this week.

Bhihari was wanted for the year 2000 murder of Daniel Singh who was chopped to death at his home in East Coast Demerara.

Bhihari was also wanted for the attempted murder of Singh’s daughter, Bahgwantie, who sustained chop wounds all over her body in the same incident.

The suspect also chopped several dogs to death in the chopping spree.
