Mrs. Kay Bacchus-Baptiste has been nominated by the opposition New Democratic Party (NDP) to replace Dr. Julian Ferdinand as Senator in the House of Assembly.

The NDP said in a statement today that “the Leader of the Opposition Dr. the Honourable Godwin Friday, today advised His Excellency the Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne, of the nomination of Mrs. Kay Bacchus-Baptiste as Senator of the House of Assembly of St. Vincent and the Grenadines effective immediately.”

This is in accordance with Section 28(b) of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Constitution Order 1979 Cap 10 of the laws of St. Vincent revised edition 2017.

The Executive and members of the NDP thank Dr. Ferdinand for his years of positive and committed contribution to the Party, the people of St. Vincent and the Grenadines and wish him all success in his future endevours.

The NDP says it is confident that Mrs. Kay Bacchus-Baptiste as Senator will be an asset in the House of Assembly and will continue to provide positive representation to the people of West St. George and by extension St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
