A number of activities have been planned in the lead up to the celebration of Fisherman’s Day on Monday May 21, Whit Monday.
The theme for this year’s celebrations is “From Our Ridges into the High seas, Our Nation We Feed” and the slogan is “Cleaner Reef, Healthy Fish To Eat”.
Chairman of Fisherman’s Day Committee, Winfield Tannis Abbott said the Fisheries Cooperative has been agreed one week in the month of activities to host fish nights, National Insurance Service (NIS) membership drives, school competitions and other events.
Speaking on Friday April 27 at a ceremony to officially launch the 2018 Fisherman’s Day month of activities, Mr. Tannis Abbott expressed an appeal for the Vincentian public to support the various activities.
