Mitigation works are expected to be carried out during the first quarter of this year to address the problem of drainage in the vicinity of the Milton Cato Memorial hospital, as part of works being undertaken for the South Leeward Highway Rehabilitation Project.

This is according to Community Liaison Officer for the Project, Mr. Marlon Stephenson speaking recently to WEFM News.

Mr. Stephenson also said that plans are being made with the Central Water and Sewerage Authority (CWSA) to have sewer pipes installed in the area between the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital and the CWSA head office at New Montrose.

He noted that this is being done in light of the increased commercial activity in that locale.

Work on the South Leeward Highway Project resumed last week after being briefly suspended for the Christmas holidays.
