The Ministry of Transport and Works is planning to carry out a major clean up of capital city Kingstown during this year.

Senator Julian Francis, who is responsible for the Ministry of Transport and Works speaking in parliament on Wednesday during his contribution to the debate on the Estimates of Revenue and Expenditure for the 2018 fiscal year said that 1.7 million dollars has been allocated in the Estimates for the clean-up of Kingstown.

He said that among the works proposed to be carried out includes the renovation and upgrading of the meat market.

Senator Francis said he has spoken several times about the need to have Kingstown cleaned up, but there has always been something to delay that process.
