The Accident and Emergency Department at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital has been closed until further notice.
The announcement was made by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment minutes ago, via a press release.
The Ministry also said that visiting hours have been suspended today, until further notice.
Staff at the Milton Cato are allowed to enter the hospital, however members of the public have been prohibited from entering the hospital.
As a result of the closure, the Ministry said persons seeking emergency care should attend the Kingstown District Clinic until further notice.
This closure is anticipated to be a temporary measure.
