The Ministry of Health says it will continue to provide a well-coordinated mental health care system that promotes mental wellness and delivers quality care to those suffering with mental disorders.

Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment, Hon. Clayton Burgin gave the commitment in a Radio Address to mark Mental Health Day, which was observed on Saturday under the theme “Dignity in Mental Health”.

Minister Burgin said it is important that persons recognize their collective responsibility to provide support to people who are affected by mental health issues.

He noted that there is also a need to strengthen the Ministry’s efforts to combat stigma and discrimination for people living with mental illnesses.
