The Ministry of Agriculture is hoping to make two more trial shipments of bananas to the United Kingdom (UK), following one such shipment earlier this year.

Speaking on Monday at the opening ceremony of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Fair Trade Organisation 15th Annual General Assembly, Chief Agricultural Officer, Mr. Ashley Cain said that through these trial shipment this country will be seeking to prove its capacity to once again export bananas internationally.

Mr. Cain says it is also the intention of the Ministry of Agriculture to further strengthen the Banana Services Unit in 2016, as part of its strategic plan to rebuild the banana industry.
