The Minister of Tourism, Sports and Culture Hon. Cecil Mckie while appearing as a guest on VC3’s Roundtable Talk discussed the assistance those within the tourism sector have received through the government to curb the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We had over 320 taxi operators in the country that were affected. The stimulus assisted them to tide over for a little period, we offered around $500 to each of the operators, we had over thirty tour bus operators, they received a stimulus of about $2000 to help them in this difficult period.

The water taxi operators, we had about 45 of them that benefited from $300 stimulus package.

We had over 200 cultural practitioners that benefited—and for persons involved in Vincy Mas, over 250 of them received support.”
