Police have arrested and charged Brent Samuel, a 36-year-old Mason of Ottley Hall with the offence of attempted Bigamy.

According to Investigations, Samuel did an act which was more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence, by allegedly trying to get married while being married at Buccament Bay, about 10:00am on December 8, 2018.

Samuel was additionally charged with allegedly giving a person employed in the Public Service, false information, namely that he is a bachelor, intending thereby to cause the employee to grant a marriage licence, which she ought not to have done if the facts with such information was known to her.

The incident occurred on November 11, 2018.

Police have also arrested and charged Deborah Ballantyne, a 36-year-old Domestic of Sandy Bay with twenty-five counts of theft.

According to investigations, Ballantyne allegedly stole cash belonging to the Government of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in the amount of EC$250. The incidents occurred between November 7, 2016 and the November 5, 2018.
